Weekly pool service in Wellington
Big lots, mature tree cover, and a town whose population changes with the season. Wellington pools need more attention than their size suggests.
The trees are the job
Wellington lots are large and heavily planted, and that is the defining feature of a pool here. Constant leaf and organic load fills baskets, draws down chlorine between visits, and quietly stains surfaces if it is left sitting.
The other thing that shapes the work is the season. A significant share of Wellington homes go from empty to full when the equestrian season starts, and a pool that has been coasting through the summer is exactly the pool that is not ready for people to arrive and use it. We would rather hold it properly year round than perform a rescue in December.

The dip on 14 July was a heavy-use week after the holiday. It recovered on its own by the next visit, so nothing was dosed.

Drifting up is normal on a plaster pool. Small acid doses on 21 and 28 July held it mid-band rather than chasing it from one end to the other.

Alkalinity is what keeps pH from swinging. Holding it near the middle of the band is why the pH line above stays flat.

Stabilizer is what stops the sun burning off your chlorine. It had drifted down to 49 through splash-out and rain, so 1 lb went in on this visit.
Service checklist
- Skimmed, brushed and vacuumed
- Skimmer and pump baskets emptied
- Filter pressure checked — 14 psi, normal
- 1 lb stabilizer, 2 tabs added
Note from your technician
“Stabilizer was running low so I brought it back up. Everything else looked good — nothing you need to do.”
What Wellington pools need
Constant organic load
Heavy tree cover means chlorine demand that does not let up. Skimming alone does not solve it; the chemistry has to be held against it.
Seasonal occupancy
Houses that sit empty for months and then fill up need the pool held to a usable standard the whole time, not brought back from the brink in November.
Larger pools and equipment
Wellington pools are often bigger than the county average with the pumps and filters to match. Filter cleans matter more here and we track pressure weekly.
What it costs
Wellington pools usually price a little above a comparable coastal pool of the same size, for one reason: tree cover. More organic load means more chemistry and more time on site.
Weekly plans start at $129 a month. On a heavily shaded Wellington lot the flat-rate chemical plan is normally the better value, and we will show you the math at the quote.
Prices shown are starting prices for a standard residential pool on a weekly route. Every account is subject to a price quote by a technician or at the point of sale - pool size, surface, equipment, screen enclosure and tree cover all move the number. We quote before we service, and the quote is the price.
Pool service in Wellington
Our lot is heavily shaded. Does that cost more?
Usually a little. Constant leaf and organic load uses chlorine faster and adds time to every visit. On those pools the flat-rate chemical plan normally works out better than paying for chemicals as used.
The house is empty most of the year. Do we still need weekly service?
Yes, and arguably more than an occupied house does. A pool nobody is watching is the one that turns, and bringing one back is far more expensive than holding it.
